Friday August 13th was the 3rd annual Beef Throwdown which included a Burger Battle near the Harley Davidson Stage in downtown Sturgis, South Dakota. Food Network Celebrity Chef, Justin Warner hosted this year’s Beef Throwdown Burger Battle and thinks it’s important for consumers to see the faces that produce this high-quality protein, “Events like the burger battle are a crucial component to telling the story of beef. When consumers can see the humans behind the product, their appreciation and respect for the product grows.”
This year’s Beef Throwdown Burger Battle contestants were: South Dakota Ranchers, Justin Tupper, Josh Giagle, Chance Anderson, Corey Levin and Les Shaw along with South Dakota Media Partners Brad Heid, Mike Fell, Rhonda Lee and Jeff Menken. One lucky Motorcycle Rally attendee was pulled from the crowd to participate with one of our South Dakota Ranchers! This year’s Beef Throwdown Burger Battle Champions were South Dakota Rancher Les Shaw and Riverfront Broadcastings, Jeff Menkens.
