Simplify the Season with BEEF

As the 2021 holiday season approaches, the South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) team has been reflecting on the past year. Calendars are already jam packed, how do you fit in holiday gatherings to already packed schedules? The SDBIC team all agree that finding tasty recipes not requiring you to spend hours in the kitchen is high priority during the holidays. So, we set up a “Holiday Entertaining” page on the SDBIC website to help relieve a little of the holiday stress.

Some holiday gatherings only require appetizers but what can you make with beef? Flaky Beef-Stuffed Pinwheels, Holiday Mini Beef Meatball Skewers with Cranberry Barbecue Sauce, and Itty-Bitty Beef Bundles are just a few of the yummy appetizer recipes the team is sharing. If I show up at a gathering with any of these, it will mean I am on appetizers for life. They all look delicious and won’t take hours of preparation.

I can honestly say I have never thought about including beef in any side dishes. It seems like many families have a few standard side dishes and none of them include beef. But recipes for Beef Sausage, Wild Mushroom and Artichoke Bread Pudding or Beef Stuffing with Apples & Cranberries or One Skillet Beefy 7-Layer Dip have me rethinking my position on side dishes.

My family usually has beef during the holidays but I quite often need a little extra help. When standing at the meat counter I look at all the different kinds of roasts and have absolutely no idea what would be best for my family’s needs. Luckily, the SDBIC team put together a variety of tips to determine the best cut to select along with the best preparation method. The videos on this site will help any of us that need to improvise, which pretty much happens every year at my house!

Celebrity Chef, Justin Warner, has planned multiple guest appearances on the SDBIC social media. He will share some of his favorite tips and hacks to make preparing beef a little easier. Chef Justin will not only share great ideas to make your beef dishes better, he also might give you a good laugh.

The other area of the holidays that no one likes to think about is all the bills associated with the added gatherings. Visit the SDBIC website to get entered into the holiday Beef Bucks giveaway for a chance to win $500, $300, or $200. Visit our website, , or follow us on Facebook at @sdbeef to get entered into the giveaway.

From the team at the South Dakota Beef Industry Council, we want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. We encourage you to choose BEEF for your upcoming gatherings and don’t forget to keep it SIMPLE with BEEF!
