Segment of the Beef community?

We fall into the feedlot segment of the beef industry. Feeding out cattle from weaned calves to cull cows and everything in between.


Where is your ranch located?

We are more of a farm than a ranch, but we are located 5 miles west of Colton, SD.


How long have your ranched?

David grew up farming. Our feedlot was bought in 1992 and we have been farming here ever since. Our farm has changed and evolved a lot in those 28 years.


Tell us a little bit about yourself, your family and about your ranch?

We have many sectors that make up our farm. The 2,000 head feedlot takes up majority of our time. That includes a bed-pack confinement barn and also several outside dirt pens. In addition to the feedlot, we also grow crops such as corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and wheat. And if all that wasn’t enough, we run a small ethanol plant on the farm additionally. We like to think of ourselves as a closed loop system.


What do you want consumers to know about the Beef industry?

We work hard to provide some of the highest quality beef in the world. Some of the best feedstuffs are used for beef cattle nutrition plans and only the best hands are selected to care for our cattle. Next time you are browsing the meat counter, know that the product was brought to you by people that care.


One word to describe your life as a rancher and why?

Fulfilling. When you are in the livestock industry our job is not easy or glamorous but to know that you are producing some of the best product for consumers is very fulfilling


Favorite Beef Dish?

We love a good Ribeye steak or steak Kabobs.
